Announcement on Mexican Customs’ Mandatory Requirement for Cross-Border Packages to Provide Tax ID Numbers
Dear All Mexican Customers:
According to information from the synchronization platform of Mexican customs and related departments, the Mexican government is expected to impose a new comprehensive import tax on cross-border small packages sold from China to Mexico starting from January 1, 2025, local time in Mexico. Tax Policy (“Mexico Tax Reform”).
We will require our Mexican buyers to provide the real recipient’s TAX ID NUMBER starting from January 1, 2025. Otherwise, the package may not be cleared for customs clearance, or the customs clearance may fail due to failure to provide a tax ID. The resulting losses and liabilities will fall to the recipient. The receiver (buyer) is responsible for this.
We hope that our Mexican customers can provide us with TAX ID NUMBERS accurately and in a timely manner. We will submit it to the freight company when shipping for customs clearance.
Thank you to all Mexican buyers for your cooperation, and wish you a prosperous business!
